Structural Integrity Challenges in Carbon Fibre Reinforced Polymer Composites

Advanced Manufacturing Park, Rotherham, Sheffield, UK

22 November 22, 2016

Carbon fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP) composites are used for structural applications in many engineering sectors exploiting their high stiffness and strength coupled with light weight and corrosion resistance. These benefits come with a cost due to increased complexity of design, analysis and manufacturing arising from their inherent anisotropy and heterogeneity. As a result, CFRP composites are subjected to multiple failure mechanisms.

This workshop is chaired by Brian Tomkins.
