Future Challenges In Assessing Environmentally Assisted Cracking

*This event has now been cancelled. We hope to rearrange a new date for the workshop in 2023*

FESI has organised workshop to be held on November 22, 2022 that will explore the future challenges in assessing the complex phenomenon known as environmentally assisted cracking (EAC).

This workshop will bring together industry and academia from across the UK. It will take place at Brichwood Park, Warrington which is a UK hub for nuclear services. The event will see experts from EDF UK, EDF France, NNL and Jacobs present their latest research in the field of environmentally assisted cracking. Their work on environmentally assisted fatigue and SCC modelling will be shared with the audience.

Additionally, academics from the University of Oxford and Manchester are due to present their state-of-the-art work on high resolution characterisation and iodine-assisted stress corrosion cracking. Following the presentation session, the audience and presenters will take part in a workshop session to determine the current gaps in the knowledge and what is required to address future EAC challenges in plant operations.

We encourage anyone working in this field, from PhD student, to early career worker, to subject matter expert to register for the event!
