The ongoing COVID-19 crisis has, like many organisations across the world, caused continued disruption to live event programming. The TAGSI–FESI Symposium that we had originally planned for April 2020 and then rescheduled for October 2020, is now postponed until a date to be confirmed in 2021.
FESI’s role to facilitate the exchange and enhancement of knowledge of engineering structural integrity in the UK has, during this enforced interregnum, prompted us to conceive and organise a series of free “Virtual Workshops” for FESI Members, both Corporate and Individual.
The first of these two hour Virtual Workshops is to be held on October 8, 2020 (10.00am–12.00 pm) and will include a 30 minute presentation from each speaker followed by a 15 minute question and answer session and a 30 minute round table panel discussion comprising two speakers and two FESI members.
The key speakers and their topics are:
Dr Chinnapat Panwisawas
Associate Professor at University of Leicester
Metal additive manufacturing as a disruptive digital technology: computational fluid dynamics and material design.
Dr Tyler London
TWI Ltd
Simulating additively manufactured microstructures to improve quality and repeatability.
A further Workshop, again exclusive to FESI Members, is also proposed for November 2020 with further details to follow.
To become a member of FESI, please refer to our Membership page where you can discover the benefits of being a Corporate or Individual Member with details on how to apply.
