Critical Structural Integrity Challenges for Wind Energy in the UK

The Boilerhouse, Grantham, Lincolnshire, UK

June 29, 2022

As the need for renewable energy increases, the demand for onshore and offshore wind energy generation facilities continues to grow. The UK is a global leader in power generation from offshore wind and this accolade owes its success to the materials and technology used in the construction of these complex installations. Structural integrity is vital in remote locations, be they off our coast or on our moors, and materials engineers are playing a vital role in ensuring that the turbines and associated infrastructure operate without a hitch for prolonged periods.

This new, one-day course that the Insitute of Materials, Minerals & Mining (IOM3) are running in collaboration with us at FESI (UK Forum for Engineering Structural Integrity), explores the critical structural integrity challenges that must be considered when planning a new facility. The course is to be held at The Boilerhouse, Grantham, UK on Wednesday June 29, 2022 between 09.30–16.30.
